Word: PERFIDIOUS (adj)

Meaning: treacherous

Synonyms: untrue, betraying, deceitful

1. I was being perfidious when I told my brother I wouldn’t eat his gummy worms because the second he left the kitchen, I ate them.

2. In Dante’s Inferno, perfidious individuals are punished in the ninth circle of hell  for their betrayal.

3. To avoid being perfidious, one should tell the truth and be loyal.
